Interesting thread.
I didn't start homeschooling my kids because I thought myself "higher" than anyone else. The reason I started is because the crappy public school system was doing a very, very poor job at educating. I won't go into too much detail, but I will say this. We have been homeschooling for 3 weeks now and all the kids have shown ALOT of improvement already! We're using the CLE curriculum. Now compare that to the public school curriculum, it's a challenge! Are they doing better because they are homeschooling? Yes! Should I be proud of them for doing such great work? Sure thing.
I homeschool out of concern and love and wanting the best for my kids, but I'm not going around saying I'm "better" than folks who send their kids to public school. I say, it's their choice, just as it's my choice to homeschool. I just feel better for it. |
