First of all, I guess I should say that I'm divorced, I work at home, and have 2 sons: 9 in 3rd+4th grade and 8 who is autistic and does lower level work (learning to read and addition right now).
8:30 is breakfast (that's just when we all get up and are ready)
10:00 - school starts
9yr old does math and language arts until 12:00 lunch time
8yr old gets math and LA help from me and various therapy activities
After lunch until 2:00 kids are only allowed to read, draw, do educational computer games, watch a unit-study-specific documentary, or arts and crafts.
2:00 pm - Unit study: We alternate science and social studies/history in 1, 2, or 3 week blocks
We're usually done by 4:00pm and they get to play until dinner around 6:00 pm.
It works for us, and I get enough time to finish all my work in between and by staying up to midnight every night! _________________ Mel N 2 Lil Men |
