Learn the health and cooking benefits flax can provide.
Do a Google search for flax seed or look at these sites: www.ameriflax.com, www.askdr.sears.com, www.hodgsonmill.com.
I have been using milled flax seed in recipes the past few years. Add it to wheat , cranberry, and pumpkin breads, etc to make them moist and provide added nutrition. It doesn't make the breads taste wierd. Substitute 1/4 cup flour with 1/4 cup flaxseed in breads. Add to any recipe, cereals, waffles, smoothies (use flaxseed oil). Also, try substituting 1 tablespoon of oil or butter for 3 tablespoons of milled flax seed.
Try to buy it milled or crushed. If you buy it whole then pour seeds into a coffee grinder to crush. The nutritional benefits of milled flax or flax meal are greater than the seed in its whole form.
It's worth a try.

I love flaxseed. We own a health food store, and one day when some flaxseed power mix of some sort went out of date, we put some in our smoothies. Ever since then I've added it to just about everything because it gives such a great flavor. I absolutely love the taste.
