I am looking for a program that uses science to teach math.lang arts,ect....My son seems to be really interested in science but not so much with others subjects.Is there a curriculum that uses science based cirriculum.My son is 8.

| I've never heard of one. However, with a child so young, you could easily devise your own unit study around whatever area of science he seems to be most interested in. Don't know how you could teach arithmetic adequately that way, but you could have age-appropriate writing assignments and history and so on. |

For teaching arithmatic, just do story problems or projects that relate to what ever science subject you are teaching and require math.
For example if you want to teach addition, and you are learning about animals then have him do something like count all the birds sees in the back yard each day for a week, and then add up all the total number of birds from each day to find out how many he saw for the whole week.
If you want to teach division, then have him divide the total number of birds for the week by 7. That gives you the average number of birds that he saw in a day.
There are tons of ways to mix math into science. |
