What do you use for Math?

I'm new to HS'ing and cannot decide on which Math curriculum to use with my now 2nd and 3rd graders?

I use Singapore and Miquon math for my 1st-2nd grader.

With children that age, I would use Rod and Staff Publishers. It's comprehensive, easy to use, and inexpensive to boot.

So does mine. The reason it's essential IMO, is that practically all computation math past that grade flows from knowing your base math facts by heart. Without them you can really have a hard time.

I'm praying that his maturity will kick in soon on this. We've taught him the same math facts over and over. He grasps concepts quickly and well but he doesn't retain them well.

We are using Math-U-See, DS has only been out of school since december. I have gone backwards from what he was going at school and I am using MUS to cement the basic facts, it's working absolutely brilliantly, I think it really suits his visual/kinesthetic learning style.

We've been using Singapore but I picked up Math Mammoth a couple of months ago to shore up some skills and haven't gone back to Singapore yet. It's a $40 download for a whole slew of workbooks and the author has a great site with lots of activities and links. We've also got Key to Fractions and my daughter enjoys that one.

MUS is what my kids like best of the things we've tried. It is set up for the parent to do a lot of instruction which I don't have the time to do.

I have the older child work with the younger instead. That helps her cement those facts even better and she loves it.

Over the years we used Developmental Math by Saad and also Saxon.
I was pretty happy with these.My boys didn't like the reading required for Saxon.They did like Developmental Math .The girls loved Saxon .We started Saxon at 54.
