Hi everyone,
I have a question.what if my son doesn't want to go to college after he receives his home school diploma and wants to get a job instead, will companies take home school diplomas? Has anyone here had any trouble with their homeschooled child getting a job fresh out of home school?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice given.

Very few homeschooled grads have problems getting jobs because they were homeschooled (as long as they have the appropriate job and social skills, of course). Homeschooling is not a new phenomena. Smile

Your grad will, of course, always answer "yes" when asked if he graduated from high school. It is also helpful if you have a dignified, professional-sounding name for your school, such as "Mayfield Academy" instead of "We HomeSchool for Fun," lol.

Thank you elliemaejune, I just started homeschooling my 6year old, just pulled him out of public school on Friday and have been getting a little scared and wondering if I'm doing the right thing. That was a big worry of mine was that he wouldn't be able to get a job if he decided not to go to college. As far as a name for our school, there are so many out there what if I use one that's already used, could I get in trouble?
Anyone else have anymore suggestions for a professional sounding name?

We just used Pride Homeschool, nobody cared. I do recommend taking as many standardized tests as possible, it makes it easier to gauge your skill level vs other candidates. I feel sorry for anyone stuck wading through a portfolio.
