My son still misses me terribly when leaving him at school and i feel his learning is being compromised as hes losing the desire to learn.

I do not know whether to home school or not. I do not work so have no issues at not being able to do it but he is my only child so i worry about socialisation as hes an only child and we live semi remotely.

Any help would be greatly appreicated. As in how do i get started, how many hours do they need to learn?

Many thanks

Back in the mid to late 1800's when people were still settling the west, it wasn't unusual for people to live hours of travel time from their nearest neighbor. Somehow those kids managed to grow up without being horribly damaged. Socialization doesn't need to be every day - every few weeks is enough if it's good socialization, especially in a modern era where you can communicate by phone, text message, Skype, etc. in between (I'm assuming with your supervision, since your son is probably still young) Does your son have any pets, like a dog?

Yes we have a dog, used to have 2. We also have 8 cats LOL. My sister lives with us too.

It so frustrating for me to see him upset. Not sure if TMI but he doesn't like wiping his bottom so i still have to do it. If hes got a nervous tummy first thing at school im not allowed into the toilets with him as its not PC in case other children are in there. This has led him to force himself on a morning which is dangerous.

I do love the school where he is, its safe and they teach well and hes super confident once ive lesft but he tells me at times he sits and cries as he misses me.

I was like this at school but never told him so i wonder if its genetic. We do have a strong bond as hes my only child.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Very Happy
