Homeschooling in Maryland over age 16

Postby Neece » Mon Mar 19, 2007 12:47 pm

Compulsory school age in Maryland is 5 - 16. Which, if I am reading the law correctly, means I can withdraw my son from the homeschool program (at least as far as the state is concerned) and proceed on my own without having to produce the tedious portfolio and participating in the reviews. Can anyone tell me if this is correct, and if so, is there a downside to this that I maybe overlooking?

If your son plans on going to college you might want to keep track of things for that reason however.
