need some advice and help plz

ok a little background... i have 2 kids 9yr daughter and 12yr son. My fiancee is a pipefitter/ road worker he is currently on a job in ohio. we live in arkansas. Both kids are currently in public school but with his job we only get to see him when we can take a trip up to see him. My daughter is a bright student in the 3rd who is fast to learning. My son on the other had is in the 6th grade with a reading level of about 3rd grade. He is currently in a resource class all day long. He has a diagonis of adhd, odd, mood disorder, axienty, etc etc... We have been on lots of meds since the age of 5. He is not very social either. He has a very hard time learning also. But to the point we are toying with the idea of homeschooling both kids for a while so that we can travel with fiancee on the different jobs. His current job could be for a few more months or a year.. Just depends on how things go. Then he would be on to the next town or state. So my question is would i start by looking in to arkansas laws for homeschooling or what. How would it work if we moved around? Would this even be a good idea? Im so lost on this im just not sure what or where to look or do.. Any advice or help would be great... thanks in advance

If you decide to homeschool, you could probably get your son reading at his grade level simply because he would be getting one-on-one instruction from you.

Lots of families travel while homeschooling. I think it's a great idea. You can go to this site to read about the homeschooling laws for Arkansas:

Here is a link that provides more information regarding travel:

Thanks we are pretty sure we are going to start homeschooling when the new school year starts in aug.. Im sure i will start sooner to ease them into it.. With my son suppose to be starting the 7th grade in aug would I need to start him in 7th grade work or can i start him on a lower grade work and increase him as needed or how does that work... Im going to try and find a good homeschool program i can use but dont want the work beyond his means if that makes sence... thanks

Yes, you can definitely start him with work from a lower grade level and then progress at a pace that fits his needs. That way he will not get frustrated. Homeschooling allows lots of flexibility.
