If you decide to homeschool, you could probably get your son reading at his grade level simply because he would be getting one-on-one instruction from you.
Lots of families travel while homeschooling. I think it's a great idea. You can go to this site to read about the homeschooling laws for Arkansas:

Thanks we are pretty sure we are going to start homeschooling when the new school year starts in aug.. Im sure i will start sooner to ease them into it.. With my son suppose to be starting the 7th grade in aug would I need to start him in 7th grade work or can i start him on a lower grade work and increase him as needed or how does that work... Im going to try and find a good homeschool program i can use but dont want the work beyond his means if that makes sence... thanks
