New to Homeschooling

Postby moeami » Mon Mar 25, 2013 11:54 am

I'm going to start homeschooling my 5th and 3rd grade daughters next year. Those I've spoken with say to teach both of them 5th grade which sounds reasonable until night comes and I lay awake wondering how I can teach my 3rd grader 5th grade math without frustrating her greatly! Any advice is appreciated. We have not ordered a curriculum but are leaning heavily toward Sonlight.

I would be awake at night wondering that too! :) -- because it's not a good idea at all - in my opinion. I would teach each of your children on their own grade level. Maybe some homeschool moms do that sort of thing, but I never have and I would not recommend it. It would definitely be frustrating. I have not used it myself, but I have heard lots of good things about Sonlight.
