I recently gave birth to a child with Down Syndrome a couple weeks ago. He was born with a heart defect and is still in the hospital until he is well enough to have his heart surgery. I've been spoken to briefly about the First Steps early intervention program. I was wondering if anyone else here has used the First Steps program or if there are other alternatives to the First Step program. I just want to know what all my options are. If you have any advice, please share. I am in the Kansas City, MO metro area.
