Compulsory school age

Postby janineb781 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 12:13 pm

In New York, I know the compulsory school age is 6 for school. I was going to register my daughter age 5 for kindergarten. She will be six Sept 13 th. I am not sure whether to do first grade or kindergarten. If the work is too easy can I bump her up a grade later? Just wondering if anyone knows if this can be done?

IMHO, she would be a first grader this year (although you don't actually have to indicate a grade level when you send in your NOI).

It can be really messy if you try to change any paperwork down the road. BTDT.

You would, of course, teach her at her academic level.
