Hi all, I am new to this world of homeschooling.

I am married, 38 years old and have 3 children ( 7 1/2y, 6y, and 2 1/2 y). I am a practicing pediatrician in a busy ER. I have my masters in elementary education and am a former classroom teacher/ college and high school girl's basketball coach.

Yet, I feel unprepared and overwelmed for this adventure in homeschooling. But God has convicted me and my husband. My experiences as a pediatrician (doing multitudes of psych evals on kids) and as a classroom teacher have really helped to convert me to the idea homeschooling is in the best interest of my kids. I am interested in getting off the worldly "trend" mill and raising children with hearts for God.

What is really funny, when I left the classroom to go the medical school...my famous last words were if I were ever to teach again I was going to pick my own students. As well as I would never home school over my dead body. I guess we better be careful with what we will never do. God has such an awesome sense of humor.

Laughing I think somewhere in the past I said something similiar. Homeschooling might be okay for a really dedicated and organized family, but NOT for me. Well, here I am.

Welcome again!
