Standards Based Assessments

We are finishing-up 2nd grade and next year about this time we need to be ready for a Standards Based Assessments test (3-10), required by Alaska state law... Are these tests the same for all states that require them..?

Are there sub-forums for the tests if they are the same..?

I'm sure teachers know what is going to be on each test. As a parent are these tests just, "Sink or Swim"..?
