The perks of homeschooling :-)

Postby wendi.t.momof4 » Mon Sep 18, 2006 1:28 pm

:D Here are some 'perks' of hs we enjoy:
--no more getting up at 5:30 am to catch bus and ride one hour to endure obscenities, etc.
--BIRTHDAYS ARE SCHOOL 'HOLIDAYS' :)
--doing hs in pajamas
I'm sure you all have many to post here.

Going for a hike or morning walk and calling it P.E.
Baking cookies or some other treat and calling it Math or Home Ec.
Being able to do things during the week, when it's less crowded, rather than on the weekend when everyone else is trying to fit it in.
Staying up late to finish reading that great book, without worrying about being too tired to get up for school the next day.

my husband gets his day off on a week day so my fave perk is being able to spend the time together and not wait until dd gets home from school to have an outing. :D

Also, starting later on Mondays when we just can't get motivated

Going camping and taking school with you...even if you never get to it.

the flexibility is awesome, if I have work I need to do around the house or in the family business it can be done and schoolwork done later. I can start whenever I feel like it and work as much as I like.

More time for reading and family are big bonuses. I can learn the things I want and in depth. The positives far outweigh negatives.
