Unschooling
I'm really interested in the unschooling method, but have some questions about it. For instance if my son is interested in hot rods or cars, I can teach him science & math (how the engine runs), history (when cars were invented, etc, language (reading books on it), etc., but my question is HOW do you go about the lessons? Do I have to use my imagination and "think up" ideas of my own on what projects we could do together or is there some type of curriculum or help out there I could find? I'm not too good (I don't think) at coming up with ideas, it seems time consuming. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on this subject? This would only be for a 4 to 5 year old. Thank you !!!!!
Maybe Konos?
You can find unit studies on a lot of individual subjects through Google, but the only curriculum that comes to mind is Konos, developed by Jessica Hulcy.

Just search for some subject like Rome unit study and lots of results should pop up. You may still have to come up with a day-to-day lesson plan for some, but most of the unit studies will tell you what books to get and what facets of the basic subject to look at:
From http://www.waldsfe.org/UnitStudies/Rome.htm:
- Gladiators
- Daily Life of a Roman
- Mt. Vesuvius
- weapons
- utensils/tools
- jewelry
- food & drink
- commerce
- travel
- customs
- the fall of Rome
- Rome vs. Greek culture
- Julius Caesar
- Roman Emperors
- Athens
- Rome
- Latin
Pick a subject, any subject, and see what you get.
