NC law if child has to re-enter school

Postby s.av.sum1 » Mon Mar 23, 2009 4:24 pm

My dd is starting Kindergarden this year. I have dh on board for k,1 at home, but if he does not change his mind what happens if I have to put her back in for second grade?

Thanks for you help!

She will just start in the second grade. Just keep the books you used just in case they ask to see what she did to "place" her. In NC you can put your kids in and out of school as you see fit. I know people who put their kids in and out every couple of years. I have a friend who pulled hers out mid year last year and put them back in the next year mid year. Go figure. If you put her back in you close your school and if you decide to pull her back out again later you tell the state that you are reopening your school. They don't really care, they just want a count of how many kids are homeschooled.
