Good movies for the classroom

We figure you know what you want to talk about better than we do, so why not give us a hand in picking topics?

Both!
Sometimes we are looking for movies for the holidays, history, religion or sometimes for a special day.

Chariots of Fire is a great movie, and fits well with your class. If you like war movies, I also highly recommend the Mel Gibson movies We Were Soldiers and The Patriot, and the Horatio Hornblower series (though watch out for the scene with the men showering on deck in one of them). There's probably about a million other movies I'm forgetting here, but this should get you started.

Thank you!
Presently I am working on a list for Preschool through 8th grade. When I have completed that I will work on a list for highschool.
I love the Patriot and When we were soldiers.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Oh yes, don't forget the classics. Swiss Family Robinson (1960) is a great movie, as are Sergeant York, The Mark of Zorro (1940, Tyrone Powers and Basil Rathbone), and Follow Me Boys. I also really enjoyed Jeremiah Johnson (1972, Robert Redford) - and Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea (or whatever the sequel is called), and Tales from Avonlea are all good as well.

Looks like a good list, except for Barabbas.

Looks like a pretty good list, except for Barabbas, which I've seen and found rather risque for a movie made in 1962. Not something I'd personally recommend.

Thanks for the reminder on Barabas it has been a long time since I have seen it.
I believe that and Quo Vadis will go on the high school list.

Thank you Janet for your family favorites.
Is that Sabrina the old one of the new one?

Has anyone seen all of the Magic school bus movies. Many of the teachers own them and since I do not have them I have a more difficult time approving them. I could probably rent them all if I have to.

Toni,

We like both the old version of Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn and the new one with Harrison Ford.
