Math for 9th grader

Postby radioranch » Thu Feb 21, 2008 6:30 pm

We are using Teaching Textbooks (pre-algebra this year) and wondering if anyone had any suggestions for Algebra I next year. He will be entering the 9th grade. We have been happy with TT, but just wanted to other opinions! :D

Take a look at Harold Jacobs textbook for Algebra. He makes math interesting and real. Here's the link: ... old_Jacobs

Scroll down the page to see the Algebra book photo and some comments from people who have used this book.

I borrowed it from the library(a very large suburban one);maybe you could find it to look it over before you buy it.

Hope this helps.

I looked at a bunch of the curriculums and we are using Saxon (currently Algebra 2). I really like the incremental approach. My daughter has really improved her skills since starting Saxon, she says she gets it better. It is a good prep for upper level Math.
