I am thinking of homeschooling my daughter....again. I homeschooled her from kindergarten through the third grade, then had to go back to work full-time. I basically have the text books I need. I need advice on organizational skills and record keeping. Where can I find some good user-friendly supplies? The second question...The only textbook I don't have is history, and I believe that is a requirement for Texas. Do you have any suggestions? I still am working full-time but public school is not an option...she attended last year and it was a horrific experience. Any advice would be appreciated!

I have three questions....

I organize using a calendar and my computer, that's it.
I set our school calendar up, sending it to the kids, my husband and then if they have no changes they want, our cover school.
I e-mail the kids their assignments and print out the same information for each week. (They must get a certain amount done and turned in by 5:00 pm the day before it is due to keep their privileges.)
I record grades in an excel spread sheet. These include any tests, which tend to be few, any papers or projects and a daily effort grade. (A bad attitude can lower that grade.)
A simple google search brought up the follow which might help with learning Texas history:
http://www.texashomeeducators.com/texashistory.htm
http://homeschooling.about.com/od/toppicks/tp/texas.htm
http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/index.html
You might also want to try parent teacher stores, (I found a state fact a day book in one), libraries used book stores, local homeschooling organizations and college bookstores.
