Sadly, there's a minimum age of 12 for officially joining CAP, since activities often involve many real-life things such as color guard at football games, providing communications and security at community events, locating crashed aircraft, etc. There's still a lot to do outside of that, but your sons would probably still need either you there helping out, or a sponsor from the local squadron who can keep an eye on them, and a lot depends on what the squadron is willing to allow. The best thing to do is contact them and find out.

Thanks for answering that. One other question, and then I'll contact the local organization if I have any others. Could I join myself to gain access to the educational materials and then they could join when they're 12? It's the Aerospace Education portion of this catalog that I'm really interested in. My older son is very interested in anything to do with space, and my younger one likes airplanes so I thought this would be something we could use in our homeschool. If I need to wait until they're 12 though, that would be fine.

Thanks again,
Alisa

I don't know. I'll see if one of my siblings knows and get back to you.
