I've been homeschooling my oldest daughter who is now 5 for about 1 1/2 years now. She is in Kindergarten and is starting to read, I am doing weaver, early-bird Singapore math and Learn to read in 100 lessons. How much time is optimal for her home schooling? We typically do 1 hour and 15 min 5 days a week. Also my 3 year old is interested in what we are doing what can i do to make her feel included. I tried worksheets like drawing lines and coloring but I end up coaching her in the middle of teaching the oldest.

I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old also. My 5 year old and I usually do about 1 1/2 to 2 hours (sometimes more, depending on how much she resists doing her math) 3 to 4 days a week. We also do a lot of reading and everyday learning. My 3 year old also isn't real interested in worksheets, so we do a lot of reading, and talking about different letters.

We also are memorizing scripture verses. We have one every week that goes along with the letter we are doing that week, and them my 5 year old is memorizing at least one more for her Sunday School class. Sometimes she has one or two in her school work too. (we are using LifePacs from Alpha and Omega). She is doing first grade this year too.

I have a first grader/second grader and a 4 year old. My 4 year old will begin Kindergarten officially in August since he will then be five.

Since I will have a 2nd grader and a Kinder kid, I decided to practice splitting my day between the two.

In the mornings, I work with my first/second grader for about 2-3 hours.
I give the 4yo little things to do. Coloring books, word searches, Bible tapes, puzzles etc. Sometimes he will get noisy or a bit annoyed, but he usually sits there and does what he does by himself.

Then for the second part of the day I give my first/second grader things to do and I work with my 4yo for about an hour or so. We work on reading and simple math. He really enjoys exploring nature and such, so we tend to do that a lot, but as a family.
