A sewing contest

Postby 6daughters » Sat Jan 17, 2009 11:57 am

Hi everyone, kinda new here I hope you don't mind a post asking for help.

We're a homeschooling family from Indiana and I've been trying to figure out some places to enlist the help of fellow homeschoolers.

My wife entered a contest to design a sewing room. I told her she needed something unique to get the judges attention, so she made a design called "6 Daughters, 6 Wedding dresses" and submitted it.

Well, she made the top 10! (of thousands of entries)

Now the help part... I told her if she could make the top 10 I could
probably win it for her... :-( {open mouth insert foot}

Soooo... Could you go vote for her, please? (you could win a $500 fabric prize for voting)

vote for this one --> "6 Daughters, 6 Wedding dresses by LRae"

The sewing room prize will go nicely to helping make their dresses :-D
(Yes, I really have 6 daughters, 2 sons too)

Thanks!
Zack

PS, You could send this on to everyone you know! :-)

PPS, If you have contact with another homeschool group, you could send this on to them too and ask them to help! Perhaps we can get help from the whole country!

We even setup a website where we are going to track her progress:

Don't mention it! I was gonna say it's from one Hoosier to another but, I'm not a native of Indiana. My husband is, though.

Good luck! :D

I don't know. If you were more active on the board, and didn't appear to join just for votes, then maybe. But as it is right now....why would I vote?

Hi Lily,

That's a valid question. And to be honest I did join thinking to connect with other homeschoolers. But that's not the only reason.

I'm a father of 8 and a business man. I own 4 corporations and work with homeschoolers in other areas who want to break away from the standard model of: Dad gets up, Dad leaves, Dad isn't seen until dinner (if then), then Dad watches the news, then Dad goes to bed, wash rinse and repeat.

I've been there. Not fun. I just "retired" from president of our local homeschool group after 5 years of service. I'm active in several business forums and thought that I could reach out to participate in homeschool forums. I plan to look into the forum about once every 2 days.

I hope to contribute mainly on the subjects of bigger families and business, but reserve the right to inject my 2 cents on anything else

The girls are having fun with the contest, but also know that they might not win it. They are ok with that. They're excited to have made it to 2nd place from 10th and are enjoying the wonderful comments that new and old friends are sending us.

I hope this helps :D
