WHILE I was homeschooling I didn't have a lot of time for hobbies, though I did go through an herbalist stage when I would find and dry wild herbs. Now that my kids are grown I'm drawing and painting. I knew if I tried doing art while homeschooling I would become obsessed with it and let teaching slide. You have to know yourself and what you can handle in addition to your teaching responsibilities. Hobbies just weren't a good idea for me when my kids were young. :)
