My friend who is a homeschooling parent suggested I share this contest as she loved the idea and is having her kids participate. I work for a game and toy company, University Games, in San Francisco and we are organizing on and promoting a young game makers' contest, The National Young Game Inventors’ Contest™ (NYGIC).

NYGIC is an annual contest that encourages imagination, critical thinking, deductive reasoning and creativity through board game invention. We invite kids ages 5-12 to use their imaginations to invent, design and submit a complete board game. In a world filled with high tech toys, the contest is an effort to reach out to children and families to bring back social interaction through game play.

The inventors have a chance to win prizes including a trip to San Francisco, Toy R Us gift cards, and more. In addition, the winning game may be produced by University Games for our 2014 lineup.

Happy to chat more to provide information. Look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you!
