Michigan is very relaxed when it comes to homeschooling. Definitely familiarize yourself with the laws, but you shouldn't have much trouble. The online school will probably even do a transfer request of his records, but you should get a copy in case you switch schools at a later time. You may actually have more of a hassle with the online school depending on how they run things, meaning they may only do admissions during certain times of the year.
