Moving from Maryland to Massachusetts

Postby jonsmom » Thu May 17, 2007 3:07 pm

We're considering moving from Maryland to Massachusetts this summer. Our son is 16 and will be doing his final high school year. I'm wondering whether we can just keep him enrolled in his umbrella school so he can finish school and get his diploma from them.

Homeschool here has been quite pleasant, as our umbrella school is very relaxed and hands off. Massachusetts looks much tougher, but I read that the maximum compulsory age there is 16, so I'm wondering whether we'll be OK just continuing as we've been. My son will be 17 in October.

I'd appreciate opinions on this, especially clarification of the compulsory age in Massachusetts. Thanks!
