Hello to all of you,

First of all, just to clarify a doubt that I saw in many messages : in Spain and in present days, homeschooling is NOT illegal. It's not recognized ; we call it "un vacio legal".
If I recall correctly, among EU countries it's illegal only in Germany for German families.

New in this forum, we started the homeschool adventure last christmas (january 2010) for our two kids now 5 and 7 yrs old.
We live in Madrid and are looking for english speaking homeschoolers families in Madrid or surroundings. My wife is Spanish and I'm French.

Our 7 yrs-old follows the american curriculum (in spanish language) with one of the 2 main existing academic helps for homeschoolers in Spain.

For those interested, next beginning of december, homeschoolers families linked to Epysteme will meet for a few days (national holidays) ; but it is opened to other families...

We already went to the two previous ones (dec 2009 and Easter 2010). We were between 100 or 120 people each time.

Please don't hesitate to contact us in order to organize together things or activities in Madrid or surroundings. We could start something like a homeschoolers playgroup...

See you and enjoy life,

Hello, I live near Madrid and have 13, 11, 9 and 5 years old children, and seriously considering homeschooling levitra online them in 3 languages, I am just worried about the legality of it and the problems that may arise. I am looking for families in the area who are homeschooling already to have an "insiders" view on matter.

Yes, apparently you can't complain about not having options on homeschooling in the area. I still wonder though if this is the best option there is. I've been thinking about it and the same question pops my mind every time: why would parents prefer homeschooling instead of conventional schooling? I had conventional education in my young years and it worked quite well for me since I am about to get my associates degree in business to a prestigious university. I have kids of my own and soon I'll have to consider the education options too, please share some insights about this!

Hi there,

Just wondering if I could meet up with, make contact with, any homeschoolers here in Madrid!

I have a 6 year old and a 9 year old and we're having difficulty getting them places in an international school in the city. We're only here for 18 months so local schooling is out of the question. I've done some research online and would be keen to follow a homeschooling course, but would really love to meet some fellow homeschoolers in the areas, just so it doesn't get too lonely!

Hope to hear from you soon xx
