I would like to add as a deaf/hoh mom who grew up with hearing lost, I worked hard and went to college and then on to grad. school and have a Masters. I now homeschool my children who are both hard of hearing. They too are doing well and whatever they decide to do with their lives will be met with encouragement and praise.
Homeschooling is what has helped my children the most, the schools here would just put them in a ESE class for slow learners when they are not even slow learners. They really love learning here at home.
No mater the special need of your child, they can learn anything if given the time and opportunity to learn.
